IMPLEMENTASI GAYA LUKIS SUMI-E PADA GAME ŌKAMI 『大神』ゲームにおける墨絵スタイルの実装

Abstract

ABSTRACT Muhammad Dzulfiqar Faza Imaduddin. 2021. “Implementation Of Sumi-e Painting Style On Ōkami Game”. A thesis of Japanese and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. This research is qualitative research, namely research that uses data and utilizes existing theories as explanatory material. This study uses a literature study. Literature data collection is obtained through the internet, scientific articles, and books, then analyze the existing data samples, namely the sumi-e painting style and the okami game. The primary data in this research is a game entitled Ōkami, a game developed by Clover Studio and released by Capcom in 2006. The secondary data in this research are internet articles. The theory used in this research is the modernization theory by Rauf A Hatu and the modernization theory by Alex Inkeles. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of sumi-e on character assets and level design in Ōkami game. The results of this research indicate that the sumi-e painting style can be implemented in the character and level design of the Ōkami game. Sumi-e techniques such as bokashi, noutan, and kasure can be implemented in the character designs. The level design also shows that sumi-e techniques, namely bokashi, men-gaki, and kasure, can be implemented. The results of this study are evidence of modernization efforts on sumi-e so that it can be implemented and become a distinctive feature of the Ōkami game.
