Abstract

ABSTRACT Dayyan, Muhammad Naufal. 2020. “Types of Archetypes in the Main Character of Anime Nakitai, Watashi wa Neko o Kaburu (Analytical Psychology Theory). “Undergraduate thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Advisor: Zaki Ainul Fadli S.S., M.Hum. The purpose of this study is to determine the three main characters outstanding archetypes in this anime This study uses a qualitative method and obtains data using listening and note-taking technique. The approaches used are narrative and cinematic, obtained from the narrative theory of films put forward by Himawan Pratista. The discussion of the four types of archetypes, namely persona, shadow, anima / animus, and self, uses the analytical psychology theory of the collective unconscious part of Carl Gustav Jung. The results of this study show that the three characters have different archetypes, and not all of the main characters have all archetypes. Sasaki Miyo has all archetypes namely shadow, persona, and animus and self. Kento Hinode has three archetypes namely shadow, anima, and self. Neko Ten has shadow, persona, and anima archetype. The archetypes owned by the three main characters play important roles in the development of the plot contained in the anime Nakineko. Archetypes also help developing the traits possessed by the three main characters. Keywords: archetypes, anime, narrative and cinematic element
