Abstract

Kata Kunci : Karbon, Mangrove, Teluk Kendari, InVEST, Degradasi, Prediksi Kendari Bay is part of the Kendari City area which is very strategic as a center for community activities. Various kinds of development activities in Kendari Bay make mangrove forests very vulnerable to degradation. Degraded mangrove forests will have an impact on reducing mangrove carbon stocks significantly. Mangroves play a very important role in mitigating climate change, because they have the ability to absorb high carbon through the process of photosynthesis and are converted into organic matter and stored in sediments. Remote sensing and spatial modeling can be used to estimate the degradation of mangrove carbon stocks. InVEST (Integrated Valuation Of Ecosystem Services And Tradeoffs) spatial modeling can be used to predict mangrove carbon stocks that are degraded at a certain time due to land use changes. The purpose of this study was to assess the degradation of total mangrove carbon stock based on remote sensing data and InVEST spatial models at 1982, 2000, 2019 in Kendari Bay and to assess the prediction of total mangrove carbon stock based on InVEST spatial model at 2040 in Kendari Bay. The data used to see the change in total mangrove carbon stock are remote sensing imagery data from the Landsat satellite and reference to the value of total mangrove carbon stock. The results showed that the total carbon stock of mangroves in Kendari Bay was degraded by 2,964,830 tonnes of CO2 from 1982 of 4,454,922 tonnes of CO2 to 1,490,091 tonnes of CO2 in 2019. The total carbon stock of mangroves in Kendari Bay from 2019 is predicted to increase. amounting to 27,302 tonnes of CO2 to 1,517,393 tonnes of CO2 in 2040, assuming the area of mangrove from 2019 to 2040 ispermanent.
