DISONANSI KOGNITIF PADA TOKOH KENJI DALAM NOVEL IN THE MISO SOUP KARYA RYU MURAKAMI 村上龍に書かれた「インザ・ミソスー プ」の主人公のケンジの認知的不協和音の分析である

Abstract

ABSTRACT Blair. 2020. "Cognitive Dissonance on Kenji Characters in Ryu Murakami's Novel In The Miso Soup". Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Supervisor Yuliani Rahmah, S. Pd., M.Hum. This study aims to analyze the intrinsic elements and cognitive dissonance experienced by Kenji of The Novel In The Miso Soup by Ryu Murakami. This study uses the sociology of literature method. The author uses a structural approach and literary psychology approach of analyzing the problems to be studied. The structural approach is used to analyze the intrinsic elements. Meanwhile, literary psychology approach is used to analyze the cognitive dissonance experienced by Kenji's character. This research is classified as a type of library research. The material object used is the novel 「イ ン ザ ・ ミ ソ ス ー プ」by 村上龍 published in Japan by Gentosa Publisher in 1998. The formal object in this study the author uses structural theory by Burhan Nurgiyantoro and cognitive dissonance theory popularized by Leon Festinger. The results of the analysis in this study that there are intrinsic elements which include characterization, plots, setting, and perspective. The main character is Kenji and the main supporting character is Frank. The storyline in this novel uses a mixed plot. The settings contained in this novel include place settings, time settings, and social settings. The point of view used is the point of view of the first persona "I" as the main character. The author also found that the cognitive dissonance experienced by Kenji's characters was often caused by logical inconsistencies. The efforts to overcome the dissonance experienced by Kenji are more dominant using efforts to reduce dissonance by changing the elements of his behavior.
