Abstract
The purpose of this study is to reveal the personality typology by the character’s in the novel Orang-Orang Biasa (OOB). A source of this research is a novel called Orang-Orang Bisa , written by Andrea Hirata, and published by PT Bentang Pustaka in 2019. This research uses the novel structuralism theory and Edward Spranger personality typology theory. The research used the literary psychology method. Result of the research are as follows: the structural analysis of the novel shows (1) contains themes with aspects of solidarity and intimacy that exist between characters who experience marginality from the social environment, (2) characterizations in the novel are carried out analytically and dramatically so as to produce characters figures dominated by social human characters (3) the novel dominate as straight plot, (4) the setting of place is dominate in Belantik, wich soccial setting dominated by the poor people but always life in peace. The central theme is the robbery planed by the main character’s in this novel as effort of solidarity to their best friend when her daughter will be a student of the Medicine Faculty. Based on the personality typology analisis to character’s in the OOB novel by Andrea Hirata, shows that character’s potential to be a social humanity. (2) the factors of the personality type of character’s are motivated by various things such as initial experiences, physical conditions, social acceptance, success an failure, cultural influence and the ability of adaptation. The personality types of the figures, which dominate type as social humans, are motivated by the conditions of their life, a marginalization by their social environment.
