Slang as a variety of Indonesian created by teenagers is one of the languages often used by teenagers to communicate daily with their friends. Even though it is not taught through formal education, slang is also acquired, used, and understood by groups of deaf with the limitations of their language acquisition process. The purpose of this study was to describe the level of mastery of slang and the dominant language functions used by deaf students in SLB Negeri Semarang. This research is a qualitative study using indepth-interview on subjects who have been determined using themethod purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely reduction, display, and data verification. The collected data were analyzed using Bloom's behavior theory and language function theory. The results of the research on slang mastery in deaf adolescents showed a positive value in the domain of knowledge, in the domain of understanding, and in the domain of behavior which showed a positive value at the level of guided response and mechanisms.
