KONTRIBUSI USAHATANI TEMBAKAU TERHADAP PENDAPATAN RUMAH TANGGA PETANI DI DESA KATEKAN KECAMATAN NGADIREJO KABUPATEN TEMANGGUNG

Abstract

ABSTRACT Tobacco farming is the main source of income for farmers in Katekan Village, Ngadirejo District, Temanggung Regency. Farmers cultivate tobacco plants during the dry season with the hope of obtaining an adequate level of income. This study aims to analyze the income level and profitability of tobacco farming, the difference in income between tobacco farming and non-tobacco farming income, and the amount of contribution value of tobacco farming income to the total household income of farmers in Katekan Village. The method used in this research is a survey method. Sampling is using random sample method with a total sample are 40 respondents of total 160 tobacco farmer respondents. Samples were taken from four hamlets that determined proportionally. Respondent characteristic data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, while income data used farm analysis, profitability ratio. Further data analysis for statistical tests such as data normality test, one sample t-test, paired sample test was carried out with the help of the statistical package for social science (SPSS) application. The results showed that the average income of tobacco farming per planting season was 16,035,123 IDR or around 2,672,520 IDR per month with an average land area of 7,497.5 m2. Tobacco farming is profitable and has a profitability value of 66.10%. The results showed that there was a difference between the average income of tobacco farming and the income outside tobacco farming, respectively 16.035.123 IDR per planting period and 7.217.509 IDR per planting period. Tobacco farming contributes to total household income of 23.252.632 IDR per planting period by 69%, including the category of business branches and income outside tobacco farming contributes 31%.
