Abstract

Schizophrenia is a language disorder caused by thinking disorders. People with schizophrenic mental disorders will have difficulty communicating. Research "Forms of Social Communication in Patients with Schizophrenia" aims to describe the form of social communication in schizophrenics and describe the psychological functions of schizophrenic patients. This study focuses on psycholinguistic studies with the topic of forms of social communication in schizophrenics. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method. At the data collection stage, the method used was the observation method using note-taking technique as a follow-up technique. The presentation of the results of data analysis uses simple words but is coherent, detailed and continuous, so that it is clear and easy to understand. The subjects of this study were paranoid schizophrenia patients with the initials AH, AW, and SU. The results obtained show that the form of social communication between the patient and the nurse is interpersonal communication, namely face-to-face communication without using the media as an intermediary. Schizophrenic patients can be treated with psycholinguistics, which play a role in leading to speech from hallucinations experienced by the patient. The psychological function of the three patients was different even though the three patients had the same type of schizophrenia, namely paranoid schizophrenia. The three patients were categorized as paranoid schizophrenia because they often throw tantrums because one of the characteristics of paranoid schizophrenia is frequent tantrums.
