Abstract

Rusiana, Dwi. 2020. “Kinship and separation time of Banjar, Bulungan, Dayak Ngaju, and Pasir Languages: Comparative Historical Linguistic Studies”. Research Paper. Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Adviser I : Riris Tiani, S.S., M.Hum., and adviser II: Drs. Mujid Farihul Amin, M.Pd. The research examines the kinship and separation time of Banjar, Bulungan, Dayak Ngaju, and Pasir Languages based on lexicostatistics calculation. The data source was obtained from the dictionary which contains the languages to be compared. Data were collected using referential method with advanced technique that is noted technique. The data will be analyze using quantitative analysis with the method of grouping, while the technique used is lexicostatistics technique. The research found that Banjar and Bulungan language, Banjar and Dayak Ngaju language, Banjar and Pasir languages, as well as Bulungan and Pasir language were included in the family category with the precentage reached 36 - 81%. Bulungan and Dayak Ngaju language as well as Dayak Ngaju and Pasir language were included in the stock category with the precentage reached 12-36%. Quantitative evidence found in the form of cognate similarity between Banjar and Bulungan language reached 50%, Banjar and Pasir language is 46%, Bulungan and Pasir language is 39%, Banjar and Dayak Ngaju language is 36%, Dayak Ngaju and Pasir language is 34%, Bulungan and Dayak Ngaju language is 30%. Banjar and Bulungan languages were a mono language at 1463 – 1729 years ago, it is estimated that it began to separate from proto language between 557 – 291 M (counted from 2020). Banjar and Dayak Ngaju languages were a mono language at 2170 – 2538 years ago, it is estimated that it began to separate from proto language between 150 – 518 SM (counted from 2020). Banjar and Pasir languages were a mono language at `1642 - 1938 years ago, it is estimated that it began to separate from proto language between 378 – 82 M (counted from 2020). Bulungan and Dayak Ngaju languages were a mono language at 2555 – 2993 years ago, it is estimated that it began to separate from proto language between 535 – 973 SM (counted from 2020). Bulungan and Pasir languages were a mono language at 2000 – 2340 years ago, it is estimated that it began to separate from proto language between 20 – 320 SM (counted from 2020). Dayak Ngaju and Pasir languages were a mono language at 2290 – 2682 years ago, it is estimated that it began to separate from proto language between 270 – 662 SM (counted from 2020).
