Abstract

ABSTRACT Nugroho, Fadhil Dwiki. 2020. “Analysis of Triggers in Presupposition of SUKASUKI Online Newspaper Article Ensokubu: Kanetsukidou-yama Haikingu volume 17”. Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University. Supervisor: Maharani Ratna Patria, S.S., M. Hum. This study aimed to describe the types and trigger forms of presupposition that exist in SUKASUKI Online Newspaper Article Ensokubu: Kanetsukidou-yama Haikingu. The Data from the Online Newspaper Article use supplying method that is scrutinizing and note technique method. There are also advanced technique for the success of distributional method, namely the direct-element technique stated by (Sudaryanto: 1993). The data presentation stage uses the informal method by using common words (Sudaryanto: 1999). The results of the study are found that there are 31 trigger data of presupposition, there are 11 data findings with existential trigger types that only have one type of trigger form namely Definitive Description. Furthermore, there are 11 data findings with Structural trigger types the trigger form that often appears is the Adverb Clause. And, 9 data findings with lexical trigger types, with the form of triggers that often appear are Verbs of Conditions Change. Keywords: presupposition, triggers, semantics, pragmatics
