SPIRIT FILANTROPI: KAJIAN BUDAYA ORGANISASI TANOTO SCHOLARS ASSOCIATION UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO

Abstract

Pada hakikatnya, manusia adalah makhluk yang hidup dengan berkelompok. Manusia menggunakan kemampuan akalnya telah mengembangkan berbagai macam sistem tindakan demi memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya yang kemudian dikomunikasikan kepada individu-individu lain dalam kelompoknya tentang pola tindakan-tindakan tersebut. Fokus bahasan yang menjadi tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana proses Tanoto Foundation mengenkulturasi spirit filantropi kepada Tanoto Scholars Association yang biasa disingkat TSA khususnya TSA Universitas Diponegoro. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fungsionalisme dalam menjelaskan budaya organisasi Tanoto Scholars Association Universitas Diponegoro sebagai bagian utama dari eksistensi organisasi serta mendeskripskan bentuk-bentuk, makna, dan fungsi kegiatan organisasional yang dilakukan oleh Tanoto Scholars Association Universitas Diponegoro. Metode yang penulis gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah etnografi, metode ini merupakan pekerjaan mendeskripsikan suatu kebudayaan dengan memahami suatu pandangan hidup dari sudut pandang penduduk mengenai budayanya, sedangkan teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan adalah observasi partisipasi, wawancara mendalam, studi pustaka, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa daya adaptasi TSA Undip terutama anggotanya terhadap lingkungan eksternal belum cukup kuat dan secara internal, rasa kepemilikan organisasi belum tumbuh pada beberapa Tanoto Scholars. Hal ini menyebabkan kinerja dan partisipasi anggota TSA Undip dalam menjalankan proyek sosial belum bisa maksimal. In reality, people are living creatures with groups. Human beings use his ability to develop a wide range of action systems to meet the needs of his life that are then communicated to other individuals in his group about the pattern of those actions. The focus of the discussion that is the purpose of this research is how the Tanoto Foundation process of the enculturation of philanthropy to the Tanoto Scholars Association that commonly abbreviated TSA, especially the TSA Diponegoro University. This study used a functionalism approach to explain the organization culture of the Tanoto Scholars Association of Diponegoro University as a major part of the organization's existence as well as describing the forms, meanings, and functions of activities Organized by the Tanoto Scholars Association of Diponegoro University. The method that the author uses in this study is ethnography, this method is the work of describing a culture by understanding a living view from the viewpoint of the population about its culture, while the data retrieval technique that used are participatory observation, in-depth interviews, library studies, and documentation. Based on the results of these study shows that the adaptation of TSA Undip especially their member to the external environment has not been strong enough and internally, the sense of ownership of the organization has not grown on some Tanoto Scholars. This led to the performance and participation of TSA members Undip in running social projects cannot be maximized.
