REPRESENTASI KINERJA POLRI TERKAIT KASUS TEROR AIR KERAS NOVEL BASWEDAN DALAM MEDIA MASSA ONLINE DI INDONESIA

Abstract

The incident of the acid attack to Novel Baswedan on April 11th, 2017 is one of the events prominent in the newspaper headlines in Indonesia. The reporting about acid attack cases emerged from several parties, such as KPK, Polri, and Novel Baswedan.News in the mass media about the investigation process of the Novel Baswedan acid attack created various assumptions in the public. Assumptions are created because there are doubts toward the national police. The doubt in the public caused the perpetrators not to be caught. The responses given by the police through mass media. This research is about the representation of police performance in investigating the case of Novel Baswedan acid attack.The data were taken directly from the police statements in online mass media including kompas.com, tempo.co, detiknews.com, and okezone.com. The research data collection method is simak method. The data were analysed using abductive inferentialy method.. The results showed first, the Police is a legal institution that is responsible, credible, professional, and cooperative; second, there is a power relation created by the police in them discourse. Third, the Polri's discourse aims to maintain the social structure in the community about police law institutions. The conclusion of the research is that Polri discourse respresentis the police‟s perforomence and Polri‟s power relations. Besides, both of them affect on the police position in the social sructure. Peristiwa penyerangan air keras terhadap Novel Baswedan pada 11 April 2017 merupakan salah satu peristiwa yang menjadi headline di Indonesia. Pemberitaan tentang kasus penyerangan air keras muncul dari beberapa pihak yaitu KPK, Polri, Novel Baswedan, LSM , dan lainnya. Berita di media massa tentang proses investigasi kasus peneroran air keras Novel Baswedan memunculkan berbagai asumsi di publik. Asumsi-asumsi yang muncul yakni keraguan terhadap Polri.Keraguan itu uncul karena pelaku yang belum tertangkap. Respon yang diberikan oleh Polri melaui media massa menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Penelitian ini mengenai representasi kinerja kepolisian dalam investigasi kasus penyerangan air keras Novel Baswedan. Peneliti menggambil data penelitian dari pernyataan langsung kepolisian di media massa online meliputi kompas.com, tempo.co, detiknews.com, dan okezone.com. Metode pengambilan data penelitian yaitu metode simak dengan teknik lanjutan simak bebas libat cakap. Metode analisis data menggunakan abduktif inferen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertama, Polri adalah lembaga hukum yang bertanggung jawab, berkredibilitas, dan profesional serta kooperatif. Kedua, terdapat relasi kuasa yang diciptakan Polri dalam tindak wacananya. Kepolisian sebagai pihak yang bertanggung jawab dalam menangani kasus teror Novel Baswedan memiliki kekuasaan yang lebih. Media menjadi sarana untuk memperkuat citra positif kepolisian di masyarakat. Ketiga, tidnak wacana Polri bertujuan untuk mempertahankan struktur sosial di masyarakat tentang lembaga hukum kepolisian.
