Abstract

ABSTRACT Risyad Gifari 2020. "Structural Analysis and Personality of Natsuki Subaru in Light Novel Re: Zero kara Hajimaru Isekai Seikatsu by Nagatsuki Tappei". Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University. Supervisor Yuliani Rahmah, S.Pd, M.Hum. Light novel is a new form of prose that developed in Japan since the 1970s. In the 2000s the Isekai or Parallel World appeared in the Light Novel genre. One of them is Re: Zero kara Hajimaru Isekai Seikatsu, by Nagatsuki Tappei. This Light Novel tells the story of Natsuki Subaru who magically summoned into a parallel world. This research has 2 problem formulations, first is to find out the intrinsic element contained in Light Novel Re: Zero with structural theory, and second to find out the personality of Natsuki Subaru's character by using the psychoanalytic theory from Carl Gustav Jung. The results obtained from this study are, the intrinsic elements of Light Novel Re: Zero are Theme, Characters and Characterization, Background, Flow, Point of View, and Message. According to Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic theory, Natsuki Subaru has an Extrovert and Thinker personality, and also found several factors that make up Natsuki Subaru's personality such as love, conflict, threat, biology and philosophy. The conclusion of this research is that the intrinsic element in Light Novel Re: Zero and Natsuki Subaru's personality according to Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalytic theory are interconnected and form Natsuki Subaru's character as the main character who can adapt to the new environment despite having to go through various challenges.
