Abstract

ABSTRACT Haryanti, Mitta Ety. 2020. “Personality of Koichi and Ryunosuke in the Kiseki Movie by Hirokazu Koreeda (Psychology of Literature). Thesis of Japanese Language and Culture, Diponegoro University. Advisor: Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd, M.Hum. The material object of this research is a movie by Hirokazu Koreeda titled Kiseki. The formal object in this research is personality of Koichi and Ryunosuke. The method used in this study is library research. The theory used in this research are the narrative structure of the film by Himawan Pratista and the theory of psychology personality by Carl Gustav Jung. The result of this study indicate that according to the theory of Carl Gustav Jung, Koichi’s personality based on consciousness in terms of the soul functionality is mind-type personality, while based from the attitude of the soul is extrovert personality. Based on the unconsciousness, Koichi’s personal type of unconsciousness is type-sensed, based on the collective of unconsciousness is shadow. And then, Ryunosuke’s personality based on consciousness is type-sensed and extrovert, while based on the unconsciousness, Ryunosuke’s personal type is intuitive and self. The purpose of this research is to reveal the narrative elements of the film in Kiseki and explains the personality types that develop in every individual both consciously and unconsciously.
