THE IMPACT OF DEVELOPMENT OF AGROPOLITAN AREAS ON THE SOCIAL ECONOMIC LIFE OF CRISAN FARMERS

Abstract

In the implementation of the agropolitan program, chrysanthemum farmers have problems such as the relatively small scale of farming, day fluctuations, relatively narrow marketing scale, and the low level of knowledge and innovation of chrysanthemum farmers. This study aims to determine the socioeconomic impact of program implementation. This research was conducted in December 2019 in the Gemah Ripah Farmers Group. The number of respondents was 34 people and was a member of the Gemah Ripah Farmer Group. Determination of the sample is done purposively. The study uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are literature study, interviews and observations. Data analysis includes 1) data reduction, 2) display, 3) draw conclusions and verify. Data validity testing methods are credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results showed that social impacts in the form of ease of accessing needs and health, close relations between farmers and local residents, construction and improvement of agricultural infrastructure, and strengthening agricultural institutions. Meanwhile, the economic impact of rising land use values is narrow, pressing urbanization, increasing income, opening up employment opportunities. Future studies are expected to add perspectives other than farmers and local communities to obtain information that varies according to varied perspectives.
