Abstract

ABSTRACT Afifah, Ismi. 2020. “Analysis of Friend's Meaningful Words in Japanese and Indonesian”. Undergraduate Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Department, Faculty of Humanitie, Diponegoro University. Thesis advisor S.I Trahutami, S.S, M.Hum. This thesis aims to describe how to use it and to look for similarities and differences in meaningful words of friends in Japanese and Indonesian. The data used in this thesis was obtained from various titles of short stories, novels, and online articles in Japanese and Indonesian. Simak and catat technique. Analysis of Friend's Meaningful Words in Japanese and Indonesian uses agih method with distributional method applied. Then, to know the similarities and differences of the friend noun Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that in Japanese there are nouns tomodachi, yuujin, and nakama. While in Indonesian there are nouns teman, rekan, and sahabat. All three are used to mention the relationship between one person and another. The word tomodachi in Japanese has the same meaning and usage as the word teman in Indonesian. . Then the word Nakama in Japanese has similarities with the word rekan in Indonesian. Furthermore, the word yuujin in Japanese and sahabat in Indonesian have several different uses and meanings. In addition there are also differences in the word nakama in Japanese the word nakama in Japanese is not only used in formal situations but can also be used in informal situations.
