Abstract

ABSTRACT Saputra, Triana Wakhyu. 2020. “Makna Lirik Lagu Aimer Dalam Album Penny Rain (Kajian Semiotika Riffaterre)”. A Thesis of Department of Japanese Language and Culture, Faculty of Humanity, Diponegoro University. Thesis supervisor: Budi Mulyadi, S.Pd., M.Hum. The thesis aims to describe about heuristic and hermeneutic reading, matrix, model, variant, hypogram, and the meaning behind the 4 songs of Penny Rain album by Aimer. The 4 songs that used in this research are I beg you, Black Bird, Ref:rain, and 花の唄 (Hana no Uta). The method used in this research is literature study. The theory used in this research is Michael Riffaterre’s semiotic theory about heuristic and hermeneutic readings, matrix, model, variant and hypogram. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that in the 4 Aimer Penny Rain’s songs above, possess a relevance about the meaning with the album’s title that is “rain”. The “rain” theme itself possess the symbolic meaning of desperation, grief, unrequited love, heartache. Keyword: meaning, semiotic, michael riffaterre, aimer, penny rain
