Patjarmerah is a festival of Literacy and Book Market Around Indonesia. This thesis uses Robert Escarpit's Sociology of Literature theory. The purpose of this thesis is to describe the shape and concept of Patjarmerah and how Patjarmerah contributed to distribution system in Indonesia. The method in this research is a qualitative method using data collection methods through observation, interviews and literature study. The results of the analysis is Patjarmerah has two main activitie, namely the literacy festival and the book market. Literacy Festival contains classes, talk shows and discussions related to literacy. Patjarmerah plays a major role in the distribution system in Indonesia. This can be seen in sales statistics on the Patjarmerah book market which show that the novel category occupies the second highest position in sales.
