Abstract
Pestisida organofosfat mengakibatkan penurunan aktivitas cholinesterase darah. Petani hortikultura di Sukoharjo melakukan penyemprotan dengan pestisida, di mana organofosfat merupakan salah satu jenis pestisida yang digunakan oleh sebagian besar petani. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan hubungan beberapa faktor keterpaparan pestisida dengan aktivitas cholinesterase darah pada petani hortikultura di Sukoharjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan cross sectional. Variabel-variabel pendukung untuk mengukur paparan pestisida meliputi masa kerja menyemprot, lama pemaparan, frekuensi penyemprotan, pemakaian alat pelindung diri (APD), status gizi (Indeks Masa Tubuh/IMT) dan variabel hasilnya adalah aktivitas cholinesterase darah. Subyek pada penelitian ini adalah anggota kelompok “Tani Makmur”. Kai-kuadrat (chi-square) digunakan untuk menganalisis hubungan beberapa faktor keterpaparan pestisida dengan aktivitas cholinesterase darah. Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara lama pemaparan dengan aktivitas cholinesterase (p=0,014) juga ada hubungan yang signifikan antara frekuensi penyemprotan dengan aktivitas cholinesterase (p=0,009). Kata Kunci: pestisida, aktivitas cholinesterase, petani hortikultura THE ASSOCIATION BETWEEN PESTICIDES EXPOSURE AND CHOLINESTERASE LEVEL IN BLOOD AMONG HORTICULTURAL FARMERS IN SUKOHARJO Organophosphate pesticide reduce cholinesterase level in blood. Horticultural farmers in Sukoharjo apply pesticides, while organophosphate is one of major pesticides which is used by the farmers. This study aimed to explain the association between pesticides exposure and cholinesterase level in blood among horticultural farmers in Sukoharjo. The design of this study was cross sectional. The surrogate variables to measure pesticides exposure were length of work, duration of exposure, frequency of spraying, personal protective equipment used, Body Mass Index (BMI) and the outcome variable was the cholinesterase level in blood. The subjects of this study were the member of “Tani Makmur” organization. Chi-square was utilized to analyze the association between pesticides exposure and cholinestearse level in blood among horticultural farmers. There was a significant association between duration of exposure and cholinesterase level (p=0,014).
