Abstract

Guru sebagai tenaga kerja tidak dapat terhindar dari gangguan kesehatan akibat kerja, khususnya yang bersifat psikologis yaitu stres. Guru SLB dituntut untuk mempunyai kesabaran yang tinggi, kesehatan fisik dan mental yang baik dalam bekerja. Mereka melakukan tugas fungsional (mengajar satu per satu sisiwanya dengan penuh kesabaran), melakukan tugas administrasi seperti membuat rapor, dan tugas struktural dalam organisasi sekolah. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket, skala psikologis stres kerja dan pedoman observasi. Data diolah dengan menggunakan program komputer untuk mengetahui gambaran stres kerja, karakteristik individu, karakteristik pekerjaan, dan lingkungan kerja sosial pada guru SLB Widya Bakti Semarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 54 responden sebagian responden mengalami gejala stres kerja sedang yaitu 33 responden (61,1%), sisanya 14 respoden (25,9%) dan 7 responden (13%) mengalami gejala stres kerja ringan dan berat. Gambaran karakteristik individu yaitu : 28 responden (51,9%) berusia kurang dari 40 tahun ; 37 responden (68,5%) perempuan ; 38 responden (70,4%) masa kerjanya kurang dari 20 tahun ; 40 responden (74,1%) berpendidikan khusus guru SLB ; 43 responden (79,6%) telah menikah ; 30 responden (55,6%) pernah mendapat pelatihan khusus mengajar murid luar biasa. Gambaran karakteristik pekerjaan yaitu sebagian besar responden (30 responden/55,6%) melakukan pekerjaan dengan tugas sedang, sisanya 13 responden (24,1%) dan 11 responden (20,4%) melakukan pekerjaan degan tugas ringan dan berat. Gambaran lingkungan kerja sosial yaitu 48 responden (88,9%) menilai lingkungan kerja sosialnya baik, sisanya 4 responden (7,4%) dan 2 responden (3,7%) menilai lingkungan kerja sosialnya cukup baik dan kurang baik. Gejala stres kerja berat lebih banyak dialami oleh responden yang berusia kurang dari 40 tahun (14,3%), perempuan (16,2%), masa kerjanya kurang dari 20 tahun (15,8%), pendidikan umum (14,3%), bercerai (100%), pernah mendapat pelatihan (13,3%), melakukan pekerjaan dengan tugas sedang (16,7%), lingkungan kerja sosialnya kurang baik (50%). Para guru dapat membentuk kelompok terapi, mengatur waktu, selalu memelihara hubungan sosial yang baik. Pihak sekolah dapat mengadakan pembinaan dan pengembangan profesionalisme guru, dan sharing / komunikasi dua arah. Kata Kunci: Stres kerja, guru SLB REVIEW OF WORK RELATED STRESS ON TEACHERS AT THE EXTRAORDINARY SCHOOL OF WIDYA BAKTI SEMARANG IN SEPTEMBER 2004 Teacher as a worker, can’t avoid from the work related disease, especially phsychologycal disease, that is stress. The extraordinary school’s teacher is being prosecute to have high patience, good physical and mental health at work. They do funcional duties (teaching their student one by one patiently), do administrative duties like making raport, and do structural duties at the school organization. The kind of this research is deskriptive research. Data collection is done by using questionnaires, phsychologycally scale of work related stress and observation guidance. Data is being processed by program computer to know the description of work related stress, individual characteristic, characteristic of the job and social working environment of Widya Bakti Extraordinary School’s Teacher. The result of this research shows that from 54 respondents most of them suffer the symtoms of moderate work related stress with the amount of 33 respondents (61,1 %), the rest 14 respondents (25,9 %) and 7 respondents (13%) suffer mild and severe work related stress symtoms. Individual characteristic illustration is : 28 respondents (51,9 %) are under 40 years of age ; 37 respondents (68,5%) are female ; 38 respondents (70,4%) have teaching period less than 20 years ; 40 respondents (74,1%) are specifically educated as extraordinary school’s teachers ; 43 respondents (79,6%) have married ; 30 respondents (55,6%) have been trained to teach extraordinary students. Characteristic of the job illustration are : most of the respondents (30 respondents/55,6%) do the job with moderate duties, the rest 13 respondents (24,1%) and 11 respondents (20,4%) do the job with easy and hard duties. Social working environment illustration is 48 respondents (88,9%) asses that the social working environment is good and each 4 respondents (7,4%) and 2 respondents (3,7%) asses that the social working environment is quite good and less good. Severe work related stress symtoms are most suffer by respondents whose age are less than 40 years (14,3%), female (16,2%), teaching period less than 20 years (15,8%), ordinary education (14,3%), are divorce (100%), have been trained (13,3%), do the job with moderate duties (16,7%), social working environment is less good (50%). The teachers can hold group theraphy, managing their time, always keeping relationship. The institution can holding establishment and development the profesionalisme of teachers, and sharing/ two way communication. Keyword: work related stress, extraordinary school’s teachers
