Abstract

ABSTRACT Purwanti, Anisa. 2019. “The Analysis of Word Formation in Language Variety Youjigo”. Thesis, Department of Japanese Language and Culture, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The Advisor: Lina Rosliana, S.S., M.Hum. This study aims to discover the process of word formation in language variety Youjigo (child language). Moreover, this study also aims to describe the word acquisition of language variety Youjigo. The material object of this study are attained from Japaneese vaiety show of Hajimete no Otsukai, website of Nihongo de Care, comic of Yotsuba To! and Love So Life, and digital dictionary Akebi. The method use to attain the material object was observation and writing technique. Afterwards, the material object were anylized using the ultimate constituent analysis technique. The result of the analysis is presented by an informal method. The results of this study indicates that there are six process of word formation in child languange which is sentences ending form, suffixes, reduplication, compounding, abbreviation, and absorption. One of the word acquisition called performances is when the children acquire the language from their invorenment. Word that used by the adult when communicate with children contains a polite form, using onomatopoeia, and doing reduplication. By this the children use the same form but the children tend to make a mistake by not using particles or have a pronunciation error.
