STRUKTUR DRAMA DAN PERILAKU MORAL TOKOH LAKI-LAKI SEPARUH BAYA DALAM NASKAH LAKON PETANG DI TAMAN KARYA IWAN SIMATUPANG

Thesis, Indonesian Literature Department Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University, Semarang. Thesis Advisor: Drs. Mulyo Hadi Purnomo, M.Hum and Khotibul Umam, S.S., M.Hum. The object of study is a drama script entitled Petang di Taman (Dusk at the Park) by Iwan Simatupang. The script tells about the problematic life of a homeless man who met and interacted with group of marginal people in their social life at a park. This study uses qualitative method based on drama structure theory and morality theory. The purpose of this study is to describe the intrinsic element on the Petang di Taman script and to elaborate the behavior of LSB’s character based on Budi Darma’s Morality concept. The researcher uses drama structure theory to describe the element of story building on the script (theme, character and the characterization, plot, setting, conflict, and dialogue). The researcher uses morality theory based on Budi Darma’s literature to research the attitude of LSB’s character by soft, humane, and civilized soul structure. The result of the structure analysis toward Petang di Taman’s script that is included with the theme of story is the anxiety; there are six characters that consist of four main characters and two additional characters; the plot isprogressive; the setting are place, time, and mood; Most of the interactions of the characters have conflicts; The obvious feature of the dialogues in the Petang di Taman’s drama script is the existence of word ‘bah’ as the expression of annoyance by the characters. The result of morality behavior analysis conclude that mostly LSB’s character have the soul of humanitat. These conclusions can be seen on the thoughts and the actions of LSB’s character when he is involved on the conflicts. Although LSB’s character was dominantly showing his individualist manner, his aspect of care enable to make him learn about his improper attitudes in the past (stubborn, cannot stand to see someone crying, and afraid of doing skinship with the opposite gender ones). It helps him in controlling his emotion and become a better person (more wary and wiser). Keywords :Drama, Morality, Soft Soul, Humane, Civilized
