Abstract
Kata Kunci: intensitas pencahayaan, ketajaman penglihatan, bagian finishing THE CORRELATION BETWEEN INTENSITY OF ILLUMINATION AND EYESIGHT DURABILITY ON FINISHING UNIT'S WORKERS KUSUMAHADI SANTOSA COMPANY AREA OF JATEN SUBDISTRICT, DISTRICT OF KARANGANYAR, SURAKARTA Comfort illumination is needed in accurate work and continued proses of the work. Working on finishing unit need high accuration to bleach and control the broken fabrics such as black spot, torn, hole and unneat weaving. The intensity of illumination range 122 lux-246 lux and average 184 lux however the illumination that allowed is 300 lux. The aim of this research was kowing the intensity of illumination, measuring the eyesight durability and analysing the correlation between intensity of illumination and eyesight durability. This was an explanatory research with cross sectional approachment. research population amount to 54 workers by sampel as much 32 peoples that was taken by purposive sampling. The illumination was being measured with luxmetre and eyesight durability was got from the measurement of right eye visus and left eye visus by snellen card. Bivariate analysis using Pearson Product Moment test aaat 0,01% level of significance. The statistical result showed that there were significant correlation between intensity of illumination and eyesight durability (r= 0,748). There were 3 workers have medium low vision ( with eyesight efficiency 60%), 26 workers have almost normal eyesight durability ( with eyesight efficiency 72,5%-85%) and only 3 workers still have normal eyesight durability ( with eyesight efficiency 100%). The company have to increase the intensity of illumination with increase the number of the lamp and the wall need to clean up and paint temporary.
