Abstract

Stress is an unspecified response caused by a stressor in which the trigger comes from internal or external factors. Nurses who experiences stress can have some impacts on their lives and performance well being in hospital. Mindfulness is the ability of a person to be aware of any problems they encountered, so theywill be more focus on solving any problems through changing the behavior of the individual and not giving judgment to the problem. This study aims to determine the correlation between mindfulness and stress levels in nurses at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital. The type of this research is correlation research with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used proportional sampling with sample size of 84 respondents. Data were collectedby using the Five Facet Mindfuless Questionnaire (FFMQ) and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) questionnaire. The results showed that the majority of nurses at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital have the mindfulness ability that tends to be high and the stress levels are normal. There is no correlation between mindfulness ability with stress levels in nurses (p-value = 0.180). Nurses were advised to maintain the ability of mindfulness, that it can improve the quality of life among nurses.
