Abstract
Research to design and realization of monitoring system of wind speed and direction using microcontroller and WiFi has been done. This system is used for data acquisition of wind speed and direction automatically and remotely. The system was built using optocoupler as wind speed and direction sensor that is acquisitioned by ATmega8535 microcontroller. Signals from the sensor is then to be processed and sent to the processor board to be translated into the parameter data of wind speed and direction. Wireless access point is used as an intermediary to transmit data from the processor board to the client computer. This research produced a monitoring system of wind speed and direction using a microcontroller and WiFi. This system has been calibrated with standards anemometer and gave linier correlation coefficient of 0.987. The smallest wind velocity that can be measured by this system is 0.3 m/s. This system can shown eight cardinal direction of wind direction.
