Abstract
The frequency characteristics determining of Saccharomyces cereviseae in dielectrophoresis process using point-plane electrodes has been researched . S. cereviseae were used as a sample. Aquades was medium that used to put the sample and electrodes. Diameter point electrode is 0.2 mm, diameter plane electrode is 0.2 mm and length plane electrode is 3.5 cm. The electric field was resulted from generator signal, the voltage (5.2; 5.7; 6.2; 6.7, and 7.2) volts and frequencies (200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800, and 2000) Hz. Observation used a microscope with zoom 200x and observations were recorded on a computer used a camera that mounted on a microscope. The results showed that the minimum voltage capable of moving the S. cereviseae voltage 7.2 volts. Frequency characteristics of S. cereviseae is 1800 Hz. Velocity S. cereviseae on 0.04 radius is 1.4 mm/s and velocity S. cereviseae on 0.07 mm radius is 1.9 mm/s.
