PEMBERIAN MOTIVASI KEPALA PERPUSTAKAAN DALAM MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI KERJA PUSTAKAWAN DI UPT PERPUSTAKAAN IAIN SURAKARTA

Abstract

This thesis is titled “Motivation Giving by Head of Library in Improving The Librarian’s Work Achievement in UPT IAIN Library Surakarta”.This research was conducted in UPT IAIN Library Surakarta. This study aims to determine how motivation given by the head of the library in improving the librarian’s work performance. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The Sampling technique in this research is the purposive sample, with five informants. Data collection techniques in this research is through observation and interviews. Meanwhile, analysis of the data used to create a transcript of the interview and then make the data reduction which is analyzed in detail by the researcher. From this research, it can be seen that the Head of UPT IAIN Library Surakarta democratically always gives the freedom and supports the librarians in developing their career. It is said by librarians as something that can motivate themselves in terms of improving work performance. Head of UPT IAIN Surakarta Library also provides good incentives in the form of gifts, money or even in other forms of incentives such an admonition but purposed to make the librarians work better.
