Abstract

ABSTRACT Sapitri, Indah Sely. 2019. “Adverbs of Zenbu, Subete, and Minna in Japanese Sentences”. Undergraduate Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Department, Faculty of Humanitie, Diponegoro University. Thesis advisor S.I Trahutami, S.S, M.Hum. This thesis aims to describe the structure and meaning of adverb zenbu, subete, minna and explain the similarities and differences of the three adverbs. The data used in this thesis is obtained from the Kagerou Daze Antology manga -spicy- and -bitter-, Japanese online articles. The method of data collection in this thesis uses simak and catat technique. Analysis of the structure and meaning of adverb zenbu, subete and minna uses agih method with distributional method applied. Then, to know the similarities and differences of the three adverb using substitution technique. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that adverb zenbu can be attached to verbs, nouns and adjectives. This adverb has the meaning 'all' which is used to express concrete objects and state things / situations. Then, the adverb subete can be attached to verbs, nouns and adjectives. Having the meaning 'all', 'everything' that is used to express objects without exception, both abstract and concrete, states things / situations without exception, expresses everything in mind. Then adverb minna can be attached to the verb, noun and adjective words. It has the meaning 'all' to express objects without exception, state things / situations and state people or living things.
