The aim of this final research is to descrive the form of politeness of Semarang citizen in rejection speech and describing factors which affect the politeness of Semarang citizen in order to maintain its good manner. The method of data collection used in this research is the enganged and method of listening. The researcher scrutinized and involved in every rejection speech. Analytical method in this research is to interpret all speech with pragmatic design and transliteration equivalent method. According to the result of this research, it has found the form of politeness of Semarang citizen on rejection speech and factors that affect the Semarang citizens rejection speech, direct rejection and indirect rejection speech. It caused by Semarang citizen are mostly have vigorous politeness and good manner, even ini rejection. Factors that affect Semarang citizen politeness in maintaining rejection speech is obeying politeness scale and utilize the lingua unit. Keywords : Politeness, speech rejection, Semarang citizens.
