Abstract

Munir, Saiful. 2019. “Mapping of the Javanese Language Lexicon Variant in the Jepara Regency Area”. Thesis: Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University, Semarang. Advisor Dr. M. Suryadi, M. Hum. and Riris Tiani, S.S., M. Hum. This study aims to describe the lexicon variant in Javanese and its distribution in Jepara Regency. This type of research is qualitative research. Sampling was carried out in five observation points, namely, Karanganyar Village, Welahan Subdistrict, Daren Village, Nalumsari Subdistrict, Karanggondang Village, Mlonggo Subdistrict, Bandengan Village, Jepara Subdistrict, and Ngabul Village, Tahunan Subdistrict. At each observation point three informants were selected. Data collection uses the field learning method, namely researchers jump directly to interviews with BJJ speakers. The method is supported by recording and recording techniques. The method of data analysis is carried out qualitatively descriptive by considering the structure of the lexicon component, and the distribution of the lexicon variant by applying the isogloss line. The theory used in this research is dialectology theory and dialect geography theory. The results of the analysis are presented formally and informally. The results of the study found that BJJ has four forms of lexicon variants namely two lexicon variants, three lexicon variants, four lexicon variants, and five lexicon variants. In each type of variant found a lexicon that experienced onomasiological symptoms in the form of expansion and narrowing of the meaning, distinctive lexicon and innovation, lexicon with silabel structure, and lexicon with cluster types. Based on the distribution of the BJJ lexicon variants it is divided into two major variants, namely the BJJ Nalumsari variant and the BJJ Welahan variant.
