PENGARUH PENERAPAN THE ABC OF ELECTRONIC HANDOVER TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KUALITAS TIMBANG TERIMA DI INSTALASI GAWAT DARURAT

Abstract

Communication gaps during handover period can cause adverse events that affect to patient safety. The results of the preliminary study, obtained the implementation of handover has not been done routinely, regularly directed and structured. Handover was still done informally and at a glance. Important information was not reported, for example are near miss and adverse event. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of The ABC Of Electronic Handover application on improving handover quality in Emergency Departement. The research method used quasi-experimental design with pre-post test control group. A sample of 30 nurses in the emergency departement was taken using the total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using an observation sheet to measure the quality of handover in the ED. Data was analyzed by the Wilcoxon Test. The results showed differences in the average value of handover quality before and after The ABC Of Electronic Handover application with p-value = 0.001, the mean was an effects of The ABC of Electronic Handover application on improving quality of handover in ED. This study concluded that there was influences of the application of The ABC of Electronic Handover improving handover quality in the ED. The evidenced in the intervention group showed the value of Z =-3.546 and P-Value = 0.001. Suggestions was given to apply the ABC of Electronic Handover method in handover process, could use simplify the reporting system of installation work.
