TINGKAT KECEMASAN KOMUNIKASI MAHASISWA DALAM LINGKUP AKADEMIS

Abstract

In fact, Communication Apprehension or CA is usual and normal behavior which everyone always experiences it. Because not almost all of the people can’t reduce this CA, so that it disturbs communication act that will be done. In this case, it is in an academic context, some students often experience CA very greatly, for example when they represent their scientific writing in front of the class. This phenomenon causes they are not able to speak or to argument their opoinion well. Besides that, communication apprehension may be caused by some factors such as student’s internal problem and several situations around them are not supportive their ability. By applying phenomenology method, it is known some problems or factors that cause CA are familiy living background, friendship or peer group, campus as new community, perception about the lecturers who teach them, relation with public, and guidance that the lecturers give it.
