Abstract

ABSTRACT Rahmadanti, Vita. 2019. “Structure and Meaning Analysis of Conjunction Kuseni, Noni, and Ga in Japanese Sentences”. Thesis, Department of Language and Japanese Culture Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Thesis advisor is Elizabeth Ika Hesti ANR, S.S, M.Hum. In the writing thesis, the writer discussed about “Structure and Meaning Analysis of Conjunction Kuseni, Noni, and Ga in Japanese Sentences”. This research describes about the structure and meaning of Japanese conjunction, especially kuseni, noni, and ga . The research’s data being used are from children's stories in Japanese, Japanese novels, and articles on some Japanese websites. To analyze the structure and meaning of the three conjunctions, the method is distributional and descriptive method. This research are presented by informal methods. The results of this research is setsuzokushi kuseni can used in the middle and at the end of sentence. Kuseni can be attached to verbs, adjectives, and nouns. Kuseni is a conjunction that used to showed a criticism or insults. The second conjunction is noni. Setsuzokushi noni can be attached to verbs, adjectives, noun and certain sentence patterns in Japanese sentences. Setsuzokushi noni can be used in the middle and at the end of the sentence. Setsuzokushi noni which is in the middle of sentence has 3 meaning, that are contradictory meaning, comparison, and unexpected things. Whereas, setsuzokushi noni at the and of a sentence can mean a disappointment. Furthermore, setsuzokushi ga can be attached to verbs, adjectives, and nouns. To connect between adjektives, nouns with setsuzokushi ga, its should to add da or desu copula between it. Setsuzokushi ga mean a neutral contradictory without any nuances.
