Abstract

ABSTRACT Yulianah, 2019. “The comparison of narrative structure in Japanese short story Ippon Ashi no Heitai and Danish short story Prajurit Kecil Berkaki Satu”. Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Study Program, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The first advisor is Laura Andri R.M., S.S., M.A. and the second advisor is Fajria Noviana, S.S.,M.Hum. This thesis analyzed about the comparison of intrinsic element between two stories with the same theme which are short story written by H.C Andersen entitled Tinsoldater written in Danish. The purpose of this write is to describe the similarities and differences in the content of stories in Japanese sort story Ippon Ashi no Heitai and Danish short story Prajurit Kecil Berkaki Satu. This research of literature was using analitycal descriptive method to analyse its structural theory and comparative literature theory. The result of this research are the similarities of intrinsic elements in the main theme, main character, and background. While the differences in additional theme, additional character, and plot. Although these two short stories are sourced from the same short story, these short stories still have its differences. The difference was caused by differences in the cultural background of the two short stories. The differences was also caused by the cultural view of the writer. These two short stories do not affect each other even though they came from the same short story. Keyword: Short Story, Intrinsic Element, Comparative Literature
