REPRESENTASI HERO’S JOURNEY PADA TOKOH IZUMI SHINICHI DALAM MANGA KISEIJUU; SEI NO KAKURITSU 『寄生獣:セイの格率』という漫画における主人公での 「ヒーローズジャーニー」理論の表現

ABSTRACT Armando, Yosua. 2019. “ Representation of Hero’s Journey on Izumi Shinichi in Manga Kiseijuu; Sei no Kakuritsu”. A thesis of Japanese Departement, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. Advisor : Fajria Noviana, S.S., M.Hum. The material object of this study is a manga titled Kiseijuu; Sei no Kakuritsu. While the formal object in this study is a heroic journey on Izumi Shinichi. The method of the data collection is by library research. This study used theory of structuralismby Burhan Nurgiyantoro, comic theory from McCloud Scott, sosicology theory from Wellek and Werren and Hero’s Journey theory from Christopher Vogler. This thesis discusses the journey to becoming a hero of the character Izumi Shinichi in the Manga Kiseijuu; Sei no Kakuritsu. The purpose of this study is to reveal the intrinsic elements which include the theme, plot, character, and characterization of the Manga Kiseijuu; Sei no Kakuritsu and explain the representation of the journey to become a hero on character Izumi Shinichi based on theory Hero’s Journey. The results of this study are Izumi Shinichi can be categorized as a hero seen from the journey of his life following the theory of Hero's Journey. Key Word : Manga, Hero, Hero’s Journey
