Abstract

ABSTRACT Suparno, Teguh Almusfhi. 2019. ‘’The Speech of Act With The Meaning of Praise in The Haikyuu!! Anime’’. Undergraduate Thesis, Japanese Language and Culture Department, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The Advisor: Maharani Patria Ratna, S.S., M. Hum The goal of this thesis writing is to identify the speech of act with the meaning of praise in the anime and to describe the perlocution that occur from the speech of act. In this thesis writing, the writer get the data from the conversation in the Haikyuu!! anime. The method that writer used in this writing is padan pragmatis. The data from the anime was analyzed with the Hymne’s speaking theory to determine the meaning of speech of act and Alston’s perlocution verbs to determine the perlocution that occur. Based on the analysis, the speech of act with the meaning of praise that often occurs is the praise of ability. The perlocuiton verb that often occurs is the encouraging verb Keyword : Speech of Act, Praise, Perlocution
