Abstract

ABSTRACT Kurniawati, Lisa. 2019. “TUTURAN UMPATAN (NONOSHIRI NO KOTOBA) DALAM DRAMA GREAT TEACHER ONIZUKA”. A thesis, Departement of Japanese Language and Culture Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University. The Advisor S.I. Trahutami, S.I., M.Hum. This study analyzes the reference form of swear word and also the factors that influence the swear words spoken. The source data used in this study is Fuzakawa Masaki’s drama Great Teacher Onizuka with 11 episodes. This drama tells about the lives of students in grades 2-4 at Meishuu Gakuen with Onizuka as homeroom teacher. The data were collected by the technique of listen and record. The total data analyzed were 21. Then analyze the meaning, and its relevance with the use of swear words using agih method with “Bagi Unsur Langsung” as the basic technique. And method of informal presentation of data analysis result, that is presenting the result of data analysis with words. Based on analyzed data, it can be concluded that (1) there are 6 of the 8 swear references according to Wijana. There is objects, spirits, circumtances, human body parts, activities, professions, and animals. (2) the factors of using swear words are not only to relieve emotions (anger, sadness, etc.) to others. But authors also found other factors such as insulting, discrediting, attracting attention, provoking arguments, creating an intimate atmosphere, clarifying social status and economic level.
