Abstract
The aim of this research is to investigate the glass ceiling phenomenon among female managers in Central Java province, Indonesia. This research utilized qualitative-case study approach involving 6 participants from public and private sector companies in the city of Semarang, Central Java. The results demonstrated that female managers tends to balance their career and family. Several other aspect that is discussed in this study’s finding includes gender discrimination, organizational climate, and educational attainment. Implication was also dicussed.
