Previous research shows therapeutic communication is not optimal and has not explained the four phases and characteristics of therapeutic communication. The purpose of this study is to identify the description of the implementation of nurse therapeutic communication in the inpatient room of a hospital in Central Java. The type of research applied is quantitative descriptive. The population in this study was adult inpatient nurses. The total sample taken was 87. The research instrument in this study was data obtained from nurses using a questionnaire. The results of this study are 62.07% implementation of nurse therapeutic communication in good categories; the pre-interaction phase is 58.62% in the good category; orientation phase as much as 59.77% in good category; the working phase is 62.07% in the good category; termination phase as much as 63.22% in the good category; empathy as much as 52.87% in the good category; warm as much as 58.62% in the good category; sincerity as much as 58.62% in the good category. Therapeutic communication of nurses included in the less category was 37, 93%. Advice for hospitals is to make teraapeutic communication training for inpatient nurses and nurses can improve therapeutic communication by attending therapeutic communication training.
