Abstract

Puji Astutik, Heni. 2018. "Against Hegemony Male in Novel Perempuan di Titik Nol by Nawal el-Saadawi: Analysis of Hegemony". Thesis (S-1) Faculty of Humanity Diponegoro University. Lecturer I: Drs. Mulyo Hadi Purnomo, M. Hum. Lecturer II: Khothibul Umam, S.S., M. Hum. This study, will be studied novel Perempuan di Titik Nol by Nawal El-Saadawi in terms of picture of life phenomenon of Paradise. Nawal El-Saadawi, this one literary writer often lies behind his story with his historical and life experiences. His writings draw heavily on the background of society, Nawal has always highlighted a harsh critique of social reality in his society, in Egypt. Especially related to the condition of women in Egypt. Researchers analyzed using Gramci hegemonic theory to see the male hegemonic form of the Fidaus and the form of Firdaus's resistance to men in Perempuan di Titik Nol of the Work of Nawal el-Saadawi. While the method used by the author is the method of intensive reading, data analysis, and presentation of data analysis results. The result of this research is the form of hegemony of male figure to woman figure (Firdaus) that is; covert violence perpetrated by male figures to paradise, rape of female characters (Firdaus), beatings and physical attacks on Paradise, torture that leads to the parental organs of Paradise, and the sexual abuse experienced by Paradise. Meanwhile, the form of resistance of female characters to the hegemony of male characters namely; fight hegemony to get education, fight hegemony to get a decent economy, and fight hegemony to gain a decent life. Keywords; Hegemony, Gramci, Woman at Zero Point.
