Abstract

ABSTRAK Analisa Pengaruh Perbedaan Tekanan Terhadap Nilai Rm dan α Pada Filtrasi Lumpur Limbah Dengan Menggunakan Plate and Frame Filter Press Ariqho Budi Alqowi* 21030116060042 Percobaan filtrasi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan tekanan yang berbeda terhadap nilai tahanan medium filter (Rm) dan tahanan filter cake (α) serta mengetahui perbandingan Total Suspended Solid (TSS) antara suspensi lumpur sebagai bahan baku sebelum proses filtrasi dan hasil akhir filtrat. Prosedur percobaan ini, yaitu memisahkan suspensi lumpur dalam air dengan melewatkannya pada plate and frame filter press dengan 3 macam variasi tekanan yaitu 60 kg/cm 2 ; 70 kg/cm 2 ; 80 kg/cm 2 . Mencatat waktu tiap 5 liter filtrat keluar, menghitung massa padatan lumpur yang tersuspensi pada kertas saring dari analisa sampel bahan baku dan filtrat. Berdasarkan percobaan yang dilakukan didapatkan nilai α dan Rm pada masing-masing percobaan berturut-turut adalah α1 = 6,25 x 10 6 m/kg & Rm1 = 4,80 x 10 9 m -1 ; α2 = 9,16 x 10 6 m/kg & Rm2 = 6,21 x 10 9 m -1 ; α3 = 1,34 x 10 7 m/kg & Rm3 = 9,30 x 10 9 m -1 . Hal ini menunjukkan semakin tingginya tekanan yang diberikan maka semakin besar harga α dan Rm. Adapun kadar TSS bahan baku (suspensi) sebelum dan setelah diproses secara berturut – turut pada percobaan 1 yaitu 35 mg/L dan 6 mg/L, pada percobaan 2 yaitu 37 mg/L dan 8 mg/L, dan pada percobaan 3 yaitu 39 mg/L dan 7 mg/L. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa proses filtrasi yang dilakukan telah berhasil mengurangi kadar padatan tersuspensi yang dapat mencemari. Kata Kunci : Filtrasi, plate and frame filter press, Rm, α, dan TSS ABSTRACT Analysis of the Effect of Pressure Differences on the Value of Rm and α on the Waste Mud Filtration Using Plate and Frame Filter Press Ariqho Budi Alqowi * 21030116060042 This filtration experiment aims to determine the effect of the use of different pressures on the resistance value of filter medium (Rm) and filter cake (α) resistance and to know the ratio of Total Suspended Solid (TSS) between the mud suspension as raw material before the filtration process and the final filtrate. This experimental procedure, namely separating the mud suspension in water by passing it on the plate and frame filter press with 3 kinds of pressure variations namely 60 kg/cm 2 ; 70 kg/cm 2 ; 80 kg/cm 2 . Note the time each 5 liters of filtrate exits, calculating the mass of the suspended mud solid on the filter paper from analyzing the raw material sample and filtrate. Based on the experiments conducted, the values of α and Rm were obtained for each experiment respectively α1 = 6.25 x 106 m / kg & Rm1 = 4.80 x 109 m-1; α2 = 9.16 x 106 m / kg & Rm2 = 6.21 x 109 m-1; α3 = 1.34 x 107 m / kg & Rm3 = 9.30 x 109 m-1. This shows that the higher the pressure given, the greater the price of α and Rm. The TSS content of raw materials (suspension) before and after being processed in succession in experiment 1 is 35 mg/L and 6 mg/L, in experiment 2 which is 37 mg/L and 8 mg/L, and in experiment 3 which is 39 mg/L and 7 mg/L. This proves that the filtration process carried out has succeeded in reducing the level of suspended solids that can contaminate. Keywords: Filtration, plate and frame filter press, Rm, α, and TSS .
