Abstract

The development of adolescent was influenced by various factors. One of the factors is peers. In adolescence, peers can brought negative influence on adolescents. On the other hand, adolescents need to be accepted by their peers. Therefore, adolescents need social skills to refuse and control themselves towards peer pressure and solicitation to engage in risky sexual behavior through good, assertive and without fear of hurting peers. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between social skill with risk sexual behavior on adolescent in “X” Vocational High School Semarang. The study method was quantitative research using correlative with cross-sectional approach. The sampling method is quota sampling with 167 participants. The data was collected using 2 questionnaires that has been tested by expert and valid for research tool. The results of reliability test was 0,906 (very reliable) dan 0,849 (very reliable). The data was analized with SPSS 23.0. The results of univariate analysis showed that 64,7% of respondents have high social skills, while 97% of respondents have low risky sexual behaviour against pregnancy. The result showed that there was no significant correlation between social skills and risky sexual behaviour against pregnancy ( p value = 0,623; r correlation 0,038). This study can be used as a suggestion for student, school and health providers to prevent risky sexual behaviour against pregnancy with more effective method such as formation of peer educator and etc.
