Description of Knowledge and Attitudes of Employees on Preparedness to Face Fire Disaster at PT Arindo Garmentama xv + 81Pages + 22 Tables + 2 Pictures + 21Lampiran Fire is one of the most frequent disasters in Indonesia. Fire is usually caused by human negligence, either directly, or indirectly. Then,it causes not a few losses. A clothing industry is included in medium fire hazard class 3. It means it has fire potential which further can cause the fire to spread widely in a short time. Therefore, factory employees must be prepared to deal with fire disasters. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of knowledge, and employees’ attitudes about preparation against fire. This descriptive quantitative study used survey as its method. The sample of this study consisted of 267 employees of garment company who were selected using the probability proportionate random sampling technique. A research instrument being used was a questionnaire related to employee attitude,and their knowledge of fire preparation which was modified from the previous research. The results of this study indicate that the majority of employees (92.1%) have a good knowledge of fire disaster preparation. The respondents also have a good attitude regarding fire preparation, which is as much as 52.4%. Companies are advised to include all employees in a routine fire preparation training which can be held every 6 months in order to improve employee attitudes.
