Abstract

Background: Nursing diagnoses established in patients with chronic kidney disease are various according to the body's response to each aspect of basic needs. Often nurses suspect certain nursing diagnoses but have difficulty determining what data can support the enforcement of the diagnosis. Nursing diagnoses that occur in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and late chronic kidney disease are various, as do the most common diagnoses. Objective: To determine the percentage of diagnoses and types of nursing diagnoses that occur most in patients with chronic kidney disease who are hospitalized. Method: Using quantitative research with survey methods and document analysis approaches. The research sampling technique uses total sampling. The number of samples was 142 medical records of chronic kidney disease patients hospitalized from January to December 2018. Data analysis used univariate data analysis (descriptive analysis). Results: The results are the presentation of nursing diagnoses that arise are 61% ineffectiveness of breath pattern, 56% activity intolerance, 40% comfort barrier, etc. The most common type of diagnosis is the actual diagnosis. Conclusion: The most common nursing diagnoses in chronic kidney disease are ineffective breathing patterns. The type of actual diagnosis is the type of nursing diagnosis that most often appears. Suggestions from this research are that hospitals must conduct training in handling the ineffectiveness of breathing patterns, nurses apply writing diagnoses according to standards and not only focus on actual problems.
