Abstract

Correlation Discomfort and Anxiety in Patient with Post Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Femoral Artery Access in Elang Installation of DR. Kariadi Hospital, xiv + 93 Pages + 14 Tables + 3 Images + 11 Attachments Percutaneus Coronary Intervention (PCI) is a procedure of revascularization in patient with coronary heart disease. Patients would need immobilization for 8-10 hours after the procedure. This condition made the patient feel uncomfortable dan affect to the patient’s phycological condition. The purpose of the research was to determine the correlation betweet discomfort and anxiety in patient with post Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with femoral artey acces in Elang installation of dr Kariadi hospital. The research was a correlation analytic study with total sampling technique. Total sample were 80 respondents. Data were taken using Discomfort Questionnare (DQ) and Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS) than analized by univariate analysis and bivariate analysis tecniques. Result were based on frequency distribution: 62.5% respondents were in moderate discomfort level and 72.5% respondents were in moderate anxiety level. Bivariate analysis used Chi Square analysis. The result showed there was positive correlation between discomfort and anxiety in patient post PCI with significance p-value 0,000 (p-value <0.05) which mean increament of discomfort level would lead anxiety level. Physiological and psychological discomfort after the PCI procedure could affect the cardiovascular system which caused anxiety. Efforts were needed to reduce the physiological and psychological discomfort to reduse the patient’s anxiety level. Key words: discomfort, anxiety, PCI
