NILAI CINTA DALAM NOVEL PERPUSTAKAAN KELAMIN KARYA SANGHYANG MUGHNI PANCANITI TINJAUAN PSIKOLOGI SASTRA

Zakiya, Liyan Khainunatu. 2019. “Value of Compassion in the Main Character in the Novel Perpustakaan Kelamin By Sanghyang Mughni Pancaniti Literary Psychology Review”. Bachelor Degree Thesis Faculty of Humanities Diponegoro University Semarang. The Novel Perpustakaan Kelamin tells about the main character named Hariang who was risking between a library and his sex. Hariang struggled to heal his mother who had gone mad due to a burning library by selling his sex. Hariang experienced an inner debate, on one hand, he only had his mother whom he loved very much, but in the other hand, he also loved his lover, Drupadi. The focus of this research is the value of love found in the main character. The aims of the study are to describe intrinsic elements of the story and to explain the value of love in the story. The material object is the novel Perpustakaan Kelamin by Sanghyang Mughni Pancaniti. The method of collecting data in this study is library method. This research uses litereary psychological theories to analyze the object, but as a scaffolding beforehand used structural approach. The literary psychological theories used is the theory of love from Erich Fromm in his book The Art of Loving (1956) which is translated by Aquarina Kharisma Sari. Based on the result of the study it is known that the basis of the story in the novel Perpustakaan Kelamin is the compassion and struggles of the character. There are correlations of the five values of love, namely brotherly love, motherly love, erotic love, self-love, and God’s love, then it can be concluded that, the foundation of the story in the novel Perpustakaan Kelamin is the love and struggles of the main character. The five types of love develops the character’s personality to be more productive. Love gives strength to the main character because he can develop himself.
