Abstract

ABSTRACT The increased number of stagnant patients in the Emergency Department greatly influences the quality and quantity of nursing services to patients. The level of patient satisfaction can be seen from several dimensions including: dimension of tangible (physical form), dimension of reliability, dimension of responsiveness, dimension of assurance, and dimension of empathy. The purpose of this study is to know the level of stagnant patients' satisfaction toward services in an Emergency Department. The total sample in this study was 109 respondents. Data were taken using a questionnaire Brief Emergency Department Patiendt Satisfaction Scale (BEPSS); Development of a New Practial Instrument and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of this study were 89% (n=1)satisfied and 11% (n=2) were dissatisfied with Emergency Department's services. The highest level of stagnant patient satisfaction was on the responsiveness dimension (99.1%) and the lowest on the tangible dimension (78.9%).The quality of service provided to stagnant patients in the emergency department was still needed to improve.
