Abstract
Layalia Azka Rahmatina Related Factors of Parents’ Compliance in Providing Complete Basic Immunization to Infants xlvi + 110 Pages + 10 Tables + 3 Pictures + 13 Attachment ABSTRACT Immunization is an effort to reducing the morbidity and mortality of child. But there are still many children around the world who have not received immunization. WHO mention under-five mortality caused by diseases that actually can be prevented by immunization reached 1.4 million people every year, and it caused by whooping cough, tetanus, and measles. And if immunization is not given, it is feared that these diseases that actually can be prevented by immunization can spread easily from one infected child to children who live in the same area because they do not have immunity of the disease. This study aimed to determine the factors that related with compliance of parents, especially mothers, in providing complete basic immunization to infants. This study was quantitative research using cross sectional design. The number of respondents were 100 mothers. The data was analyzed using Chi-Square test. Bivariate analysis showed that mother’s age, mother’s occupation, parity, mother's religion, and mother's knowledge about adverse events following immunization were not related with parental compliance in providing complete basic immunization to infants Parental compliance in giving complete basic immunization was not based on age, occupation, religion, parity and knowledge about adverse events following immunization of mothers. Parents is supposed to increase their awareness in giving complete basic immunization to their babies in the future. Keywords: immunization, compliance, mothers
