SIKAP BAHASA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS DIPONEGORO TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN BAHASA JAWA, BAHASA INDONESIA, DAN BAHASA INGGRIS DI KAMPUS (KAJIAN SOSIOLINGUISTIK)

Abstract

This thesis aims to determine the language attitude of Diponegoro University students towards the use of Javanese, Indonesian, and English on Campus. The object of this research is students who are studying non-exact domains at Diponegoro University, Semarang. The sample used in the study was 100 students, taken using the Slovin formula calculation based on population. Data collection was done through questionnaires consisting of 6 questions for aspects of language attitude, 7 questions for aspects of using Javanese language, 7 questions for aspects of using Indonesian, and 7 questions for aspects of using English. The method used in the study is a quantitative method with descriptive analysis. Multiple analysis is used to determine the effect of language attitudes on the use of Javanese, Indonesian, and English. The data analysis technique used in this study was the t-test and t-test which was carried out with the help of SPSS 22 software. The results showed that students' language attitudes towards the use of Javanese, Indonesian and English on campus showed positive results. Based on hypothesis testing in this study hypothesis 1 is rejected, which means that there is a difference between the use of Javanese, Indonesian and English on campus. This difference shows that Indonesian is more often used than Javanese and English. Keywords: language attitude, students, language use, Javanese, Indonesian, English
