Abstract

ABSTRACT Mersiana Angelina Atitus Description of Clean and Healthy Life Behavior (CHLB) of Elderly in Nursing Home at Semarang City xv + 66 pages + 5 tables + 2 figures + 19 appendixes Clean and Healthy Life Behavior (CHLB) is a collection of behaviors carried out by each individual, family, group or community with self-awareness to be able to improve health and play an active role in realizing public health. CHLB needs to be done by the elderly because the number of elderly people is projected to increase in 2020 by around 27 million people. Elderly people also experience a degenerative aging process which results in changes in body function so that the body is susceptible to disease. This study aims to determine the description of elderly CHLB in Semarang nursing homes. This study uses a descriptive survey design. The total sample of 106 respondents was obtained by the purposive sampling technique. Data collection used a CHLB questionnaire containing 10 indicators. The results showed that CHLB were conducted well as many as 83 respondents (78.3%) and those that were not done well were 23 respondents (21.7%), which meant that CHLB was done well by the elderly in the nursing home of the city of Semarang. Efforts to improve the elderly CHLB need to be done by motivating the elderly to do CHLB and continue to provide information about CHLB in nursing homes.
